- What is Conjunctivitis?
Conjunctivitis means inflammation of the eye.
- What causes conjunctivitis?
Conjunctivitis may be caused by bacteria, viruses or occasionally allergy to a
particular substance.
- How does conjunctivitis present?
The eye appears red and may feel 'gritty', with a watery or yellow discharge.
One eye is usually involved at first but both eyes are usually affected within a
few hours.
- How long does conjunctivitis last?
The infection may last for 2-3 weeks; many patients have no more than
redness of the eyes and a slight discharge for a few days.
- What is the treatment?
Topical antibiotic drops are often used for treating bacterial eye infections.
Conjunctivitis resulting from viral infection will improve without treatment.
- Is it necessary to keep my child away from school or nursery?
Exclusion of single cases from school/nursery is not generally necessary. It
may be necessary if an outbreak occurs.
- How does conjunctivitis spread?
Conjunctivitis spreads most commonly by contact with the discharge from the
eye or upper respiratory tract of infected persons. Contaminated hands,
clothing or other articles, including sharing eye make-up applicators, or
multiple dose eye medications are the vehicles by which organisms may
reach another person.
- How may the spread of conjunctivitis be prevented?
• Good standards of hand washing and drying
• Personal hygienic care and appropriate treatment of the affected eye
• Avoid sharing equipment such as make-up applicators
• Do not use contact lenses whilst infection is present
- How long does it take to develop symptoms?
This is variable depending on the cause, usually 1-3 days for bacteria, 1-12
days for viruses and longer for certain eye infections in small babies.
- When is it infectious?
Usually from the time symptoms appear until they have resolved. Some
patients with viral infections may be infectious for up to 14 days after
symptoms start.

!!!! Bujji Bojja Ganapathi !!!!
Salutations to Lord Ganesha who is Brahman Himself, who is the Supreme Lord, who is the energy of Lord Shiva, who is the source of all bliss, and who is the bestower of all virtuous qualities and success in all undertakings.
Mushikavaahana modaka hastha,
Chaamara karna vilambitha sutra,
Vaamana rupa maheshwara putra,
Vighna vinaayaka paada namasthe
Meaning: "O Lord Vinayaka! the remover of all obstacles, the son of Lord Shiva, with a form which is very short, with mouse as Thy vehicle, with sweet pudding in hand, with wide ears and long hanging trunk, I prostrate at Thy lotus-like Feet!"
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most popular of Hindu festivals. This is the birthday of Lord Ganesha. It is the day most sacred to Lord Ganesha. It falls on the 4th day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada (August-September). It is observed throughout India, as well as by devoted Hindus in all parts of the world.
Lord Ganesha is the elephant-headed God. He is worshipped first in any prayers. His Names are repeated first before any auspicious work is begun, before any kind of worship is begun.
He is the Lord of power and wisdom. He is the eldest son of Lord Shiva and the elder brother of Skanda or Kartikeya. He is the energy of Lord Shiva and so He is called the son of Shankar and Umadevi. By worshipping Lord Ganesha mothers hope to earn for their sons the sterling virtues of Ganesha.
May the blessings of Sri Ganesha be upon you all! May He remove all the obstacles that stand in your spiritual path! May He bestow on you all material prosperity as well as liberation!Wishing U Happy Vinayaka Chavithi..........

ramasethu project crisis
Centre now chants Ram mantra
Govt To Withdraw Affidavit; Sonia Says Repair Damage ‘Today Itself’
TIMES NEWS NETWORK
New Delhi: Faced with a scathing attack from the BJP for having questioned the veracity of Lord Ram before the Supreme Court, the Centre has done an about-turn and will withdraw the controversial affidavit it filed in the apex court in the Sethusamudram case.
The retreat was personally ordered by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi who, according to party sources, asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his colleagues, home minister Shivraj Patil and law minister H R Bhardwaj, to repair the damage “today itself”.
It was also clear that the government would not like to be demonstrably proactive in seeking to get the apex court lift the freeze it ordered on the Setusamudram project on complaints based on religious, environmental and other considerations.
The compliance with Sonia’s directive was swift, with Bhardwaj going on an overdrive to reverse the Centre’s stand at a hurriedly called press conference. Bhardwaj, who proclaimed himself to be an ardent Ram devotee, said the government would soon file a supplementary affidavit to correct the stance.
“We do not want any controversy. Ram is an integral part of Hindus of this country. He cannot be made subject of debate and his existence cannot be questioned. The impression that Ram does not exist needs to be obviated. Therefore, the government will file an explanatory supplementary affidavit and withdraw certain portions of the earlier affidavit,” he said.
Saying that he had told BJP leader L K Advani that the existence of Lord Ram cannot be a subject matter of litigation, the law minister conceded that three paragraphs in the affidavit were objectionable. Even though he said that the government would not give up its case on the Sethusamudram project in SC, he took pains to stress that the matter should not be confused with a debate on whether Ram existed. “The matter is in the Supreme Court. Let it be decided on its merit. I am not an expert on Ram Setu, but I believe in Ram,” he said.
The somersault came against the backdrop of anger and dismay over the self-goal scored by the Centre, presenting BJP to sharpen its Hindutva plank. The concern found expression in the informal exchange social justice minister Meira Kumar had with Bhardwaj at the meeting of the Union Cabinet. “Yeh kya karwa diya aap logon ne,” the usually reticent Meira is learnt to have told the law minister.
Railway minister Lalu Prasad, who has always fancied his reputation as a muscular secularist, distanced himself from the controversy, saying that the affidavit was a mistake.
“Lord Ram lives in the hearts of millions,” he told TOI. BJP, which had accused the government of “blasphemy”, sharpened the attack, with leader of Opposition L K Advani, in the recovery mode after the mishap over Jinnah, in the forefront. Advani, who had lodged a strong protest with the PM and the law minister on Wednesday night, moved in for a political kill by asking the Centre to apologise.
The leader of the Ayodhya movement was in combat mode when he addressed a press conference. He accused the Manmohan Singh government and Congress of practising communalism, in what marked an escalation of attack which had so far been limited to accusations of “pseudo-secularism” and “appeasement”.
ASI told SC that there was no historical and scientific evidence to establish the existence of Lord Rama or other characters in the Ramayana .....

One of the worst traffic jams in city!!!
Wah! our traffic is born to thrill . One cannot but marvel at the chunk of chaos that runs riot on our roads. It is like a battlefield with every tome , dick and harry jostling for the best availible space to zoom ahead as the undisputed king of the road. Traffic rules goes for a toss and traffic cops go for a somersault. The less said about them, the better. The way they control traffic makes even a baby laugh. It is like a circus show with the poor cop looking like a lost child searching for his lollipop. Cops have become more of lifeless statues.
No rules are followed, all lanes look like one with each trying to outwit the other. what happens next , no one knows? vehcile zoom from both front and behind to leave a trial of gutter confusion. If the traffic on the main roads behave like this, what about the lesser known roads?
Hyderabad is getting hep as more clowns join the circus to create a panaroma that is fit to be preserved in a photo frame or a video show.
Unless chaps are educated in abc of traffic and other murky bunks , things will go on as usual . the tamasha will never end.

Happy Teachers day..
Today is september 5th ie., Teacher's day...
Mother, Father and Teacher are very very important in any body's life. Mother and father has given life to us, whereas Teachers are giving the path for our throughout journey. We learn many things from the house, but we learn wise things, valuable to our life things from our teachers. That is why many say that a teacher is a ladder in a man's life.
Come and salute our teachers...we should always remember them..
History and origin of Teacher's Day in India is related to Dr. Radhakrishnan. Read further to know about Indian Teachers' Day history:
India has been celebrating Teacher's Day on 5th of September since 1962. 5th of September is the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence. Some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday. In reply, Dr, Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teacher's day". The request showed Dr.Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, his birthday is observed as Teacher's Day in India. All this lead to Teachers Day origin in India. On this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. His dream was that "Teachers should be the best minds in the country". Hence, Teachers' Day is very important for all our people, as the teachers act as foundation for creating responsible citizens. It is said that an average teacher teaches, a good teacher explains, a superior teacher illustrates, and a great teacher both learns and inspires students. We can never thank our teachers enough for their efforts. Teacher's Day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by our teachers towards our development.
Regards,
Chaitu
