Weekend Trip to the Cursed Land!
A historic site, Talakad once had over 30 temples that today are buried in sand.
Talakad is also tagged to the curse called “Curse of Talakad” by Alamelamma on the Wodeyar dynasty (erstwhile Maharajas) of Mysore.
The curse which has survived the folklore of last four hundred odd years is known thus: * May Malangi turn into an unfathomed whirlpool * May Talakad turn into a barren expanse of sand * May the Rajas of Mysore not have children for all time to eternity!

Rare "Prehistoric" Shark Photographed Alive
Spotted by a fisher on January 21, this 5.3-foot (160-centimeter) shark was transferred to the marine park, where it was placed in a seawater pool.
"We think it may have come to the surface because it was sick, or else it was weakened because it was in shallow waters," a park official told the Reuters news service. But the truth may never be known, since the "living fossil" died hours after it was caught
